My name is Stephanie LaFave! I’m a Family Medicine physician, wife, dog mom, former college golfer, sports enthusiast and foodie.
Family Medicine Physician, Dog Mom, Wife
I’m a proud native of Asheville, North Carolina whose competitive golf career took me down to New Orleans to attend Tulane University (Roll Wave!) and fall in love with New Orleans and also my husband, Joe. We moved to Shreveport for my medical training, but after 11 years in Louisiana, the mountains were calling me home and we made ourselves at home in the Shenandoah Valley. I am currently a Attending Family Physician at Front Royal Family Practice and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Population Health at VCU, training residents and medical students at the same program I graduated from.
When I’m not at work you’ll probably find me hanging out with my husband and our 9 fur-children (yes, we have rescue 9 dogs!) and our single feather child (Andy the cockatiel), or enjoying local restaurants and breweries. I am passionate about dog rescue and volunteer transporting for rescues on the weekends. I am also a huge sports fan and I took up rugby at the conclusion of my college golf career, so whenever I have time to play you’ll find me on the golf course or the rugby pitch or at home watching PGA/LPGA golf, college basketball, gymnastics or almost any sport. Lastly, I have a pottery obsession and love collecting beautiful handmade pieces from artists all over the world.
